Job summary

Tharaldson Hospitality Management is seeking an Assistant General Manager for the Kansas City, KS area, overseeing daily hotel operations at Residence Inn by Marriott – Legends. You will lead guest service, financial performance, and team development in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, recruiting and training, scheduling and labor management, and maintaining brand standards. Salary ranges from $60,000 to $65,000 with bonus potential.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of hotel leadership experience preferred.
• Marriott brand experience strongly preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Associate degree in Hospitality Management or equivalent experience preferred.

Position Summary

The Assistant General Manager partners with the General Manager to oversee the daily operations of the hotel while ensuring exceptional guest service, financial performance, and team engagement. This leader helps create an outstanding guest experience by supporting all hotel departments, developing associates, maintaining brand standards, and driving operational success.

• Assist in leading the daily operations of the hotel while maintaining exceptional guest satisfaction.
• Supervise, coach, and develop associates to ensure outstanding service and operational excellence.
• Recruit, interview, onboard, train, and retain talented team members.
• Conduct brand-specific, operational, and safety training.
• Assist with scheduling, staffing, labor management, and payroll oversight.
• Support performance management through coaching, evaluations, recognition, and corrective action when necessary.

What We're Looking For

• One (1) year or more of hotel leadership experience preferred, ideally in a Select Service or Extended Stay environment.
• Previous Assistant General Manager, Operations Manager, or Front Office Manager experience preferred.
• Marriott brand experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of hotel operations, scheduling, inventory management, ordering, and labor management.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Passion for delivering exceptional guest service and developing successful teams.
• Valid driver's license.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands.
• Associate degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
