455 OK MEDICAL MARIJUANA AUTHORITY seeks an Assistant General Counsel to ensure effective implementation of statutes and rules. The attorney will plan, organize, and monitor legal activities, provide advice and counsel to OMMA, and operate under minimal supervision with considerable initiative.

The role involves evaluating agency rules, drafting legislation, supporting investigations, and representing the agency in various proceedings. A JD and Oklahoma Bar membership are required.

Qualifications

• Requires Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Must be licensed to practice law in Oklahoma.
• Must be a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association.

Responsabilités

• Acts as the primary contact for OMMA staff, addressing complex legal inquiries and providing advice.
• Plays a key role in evaluating and drafting agency rules and proposed legislation.
• Assists in OMMA compliance functions, including investigations and representation in administrative proceedings.
• Conducts legal research, prepares opinions, briefs, pleadings, and other legal documents; analyzes laws and regulations.
• Represents the agency in administrative, state, federal, and appellate courts.
