Job summary

Oklahoma Tax Commission is seeking an Assistant General Counsel – Legal to provide high-level legal counsel under the direction of the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsels. The role includes advising on policy and procedure, litigation, contract negotiation and drafting, and tracking legislative developments, with opportunities to handle increasingly complex matters.

The position requires a J.D. from an accredited law school, active Oklahoma Bar membership, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school; licensed to practice law in Oklahoma; active member of the State Bar of Oklahoma.
• Active member of the Oklahoma Bar.
• Preferred bilingual English/Spanish proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Advises on policy, procedure, litigation, contract negotiation and drafting.
• Handles litigation preparation and case management with oversight.
• Reviews agency policies, procedures, and legal questions for the OTC.
• Prepares and presents appeals to higher courts as needed; mentors staff.
