The Office of the General Counsel delivers opinions, drafts rules, and advises on risk management and training curricula for NCSHP members, with emphasis on constitutional and statutory law affecting agency

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law by the North Carolina State Bar.
• Two years of progressively responsible professional legal experience.
• Knowledge of statutory, case law, and regulatory law.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluating and managing personnel and workers' compensation matters.
• Coordinate with staff and Attorney General's Office Attorneys on records requests and compliance.
• Draft legal opinions and perform timely legal research on various issues.
• Work with Procurement to review contract issues as needed.
