Job summary

The ideal candidate holds a JD, is admitted to the CA Bar, and has 5+ years of in-house or equivalent experience in higher education.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree required and active Bar admission in CA.
• 5+ years of legal experience advising higher education institutions.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of contracts, including vendor and licensing agreements.
• Advise on regulatory compliance, FERPA/Title IX/Title IV, and other higher education requirements.
• Counsel on employment and labor matters, investigations, and dispute resolution.
• Support governance, policy development, and oversight of outside counsel and litigation.
• Oversee international programs, cross-border matters, and export controls.
