Job summary

The successful candidate will have a JD from an accredited law school and at least one year of relevant experience, with WV licensure or willingness to obtain it.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• At least 1 year of experience in higher education law, contracts, or related areas.
• Licensed to practice law in West Virginia or willing to obtain licensure within an agreed timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Provide policy input and draft or review institutional policies and procedures.
• Review, draft, and negotiate contracts for the University and WVURC.
• Advise on FERPA, WV FOIA, FMLA, ADA, and HIPAA issues.
• Draft memoranda and conduct legal research.
• Assist in litigation under the supervision of the General Counsel.
