Job summary

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Housing: Selleck Dining Service seeks an Assistant Food Service Manager to help oversee a university residence hall dining center. This role emphasizes safe, healthful meals and high-quality service for students, staff, faculty and guests.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or equivalent education/experience in food-related, business, or hotel/restaurant management field.
• Three years of food service experience with supervisory responsibilities in a high-volume commercial or Quick Service dining environment.
• Knowledge of cost controls, inventory controls and food safety/sanitation programs necessary.
• Must have ability to supervise food production, and excellent skills in customer relations, team building, and communications. Knowledge of personal computers, word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail and internet necessary.
• Food Handler’s permit or ability to obtain by passing the Safety and Sanitation test required.

Description Of Work

The Dining Service Assistant Manager assists with the management and supervision of the overall operation of a university residence hall dining center. Provides a safe and inviting atmosphere, healthful meal choices, and quality service in an environment that promotes the diversity, growth, and education of our students, staff, faculty and guests.
