Job summary

Dierbergs Markets, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Assistant Floral Manager to work independently with a floral friend and a friendly customer-focused team.

You will receive, sort and rotate flowers, create arrangements and operate the POS, processing various payments while supporting in-store orders and deliveries. You will help showcase our floral products, maintain a safe, clean work area and have opportunities to cross-train and advance within the department.

Qualifications

• Desire to provide floral arrangements and timely service with style.
• Ability to work in temperature-controlled environments (36-degree cooler).
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Receive, sort and rotate cut flowers, bouquets and arrangements
• Create simple corsages, boutonnieres and floral arrangements
• Operate cash register and payment systems (gift cards, checks, credits, debits)
• Process customer orders for in-store purchases and delivery
• Arrange store merchandise to showcase our flowers, plants and gifts

As you’re branching out in this fun department, we’ll rely on you to:

• Receive, sort and rotate cut flowers, bouquets and arrangements
• Create simple corsages, boutonnieres and floral arrangements
• Operate cash register and computer systems while processing all forms of payment (gift cards, checks, credits, debits and floral charges)
• Process customer orders for in-store purchases and delivery
• Arrange store merchandise to best showcase our creative selection of flowers, plants and gifts

What you need to succeed

• Desire to provide floral arrangements and timely service with thought, style and expertise
• Ability to work in varied temperature-controlled environments (36-degree cooler) and tolerate a high-pollen and seed-spore environment
• Basic math and computer skills
• Ability to keep your work area safe and clean using company-approved equipment
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule that includes weekends and holidays

• Lifting & Carrying - Up to 25 lbs occasionally
• Pushing & Pulling - Up to 20 lbs force occasionally
