Job summary

NutraStar Inc. is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to manage the accounting function, ensure timely financial closes, and strengthen internal controls. The role focuses on cash flow, treasury activities, and cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.

The position requires leadership in accounting processes, ERP systems (DEACOM a plus), and collaboration with finance and operations to support strategic decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with required experience.
• 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Manufacturing and cost accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls, GAAP and cash management.
• ERP systems experience; DEACOM a plus.
• Proficient in Excel and financial analysis.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the financial close process delivering accuracy and timeliness of all accounting activities.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure account reconciliations are completed timely.
• Coordinate year-end audits, support tax preparation, and lender reporting covenant calculations.
• Oversee inventory accounting and reconciliations; coordinate counts and review valuation and reserves.
• Support working capital and cash flow optimization with treasury support.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and assist in cash flow forecasting.
• Monitor customer credit risk and collections.
• Support ERP governance and financial system integrity.
• Provide AP, AR, Payroll accounting oversight.
