Job summary

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission - PGC Parks and Recreation seeks an Assistant Facility Manager for the Prince George’s Trap & Skeet Center. The role oversees facility operations, maintenance, and program planning under general supervision.

The position emphasizes staff supervision, budget management, revenue‑generating programming, and coordinating marketing efforts to boost attendance and usage, with opportunities to lead special projects and support youth shooting

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Parks and Recreation or related field.
1 year of professional facility-related experience.
Possession of a valid driver’s license.
May require additional certifications depending on assignment.

Responsibilities

Assist in the management of the operations of the facility, developing and implementing procedures, goals and objectives.
Supervises intermittent staff including recruitment, training, evaluating, and scheduling; counsels staff on performance and actions.
Works with divisions and maintenance personnel to ensure facility systems operate properly and coordinates maintenance and repairs.
Monitors customer service, trains staff, and ensures timely, professional, respectful service.
Assists in managing the operating budget and revenue‑producing programming; helps prepare projections and reports.
Assists in developing marketing strategies for programs to promote attendance and facility usage.

Bachelor’s Degree in Parks and Recreation, Recreation Management, Facility Management, Education, Business Administration, Physical Education, Communication, Leisure Services, or any related field.

One (1) year of responsible professional experience working in a facility related to parks, recreation, leisure services, or area of required specialty.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted, which together total five (5) years.

Valid driver’s license in accordance with both State and Commission rules and regulations.

Contingent upon area of assignment, some positions may require valid licenses/certifications.

Pass Commission medical exam.
