Job summary

American Golf Corporation is seeking an Assistant F&B Director to partner with the Food & Beverage Director in managing multi-unit dining, catering, and events across our golf facilities. This role focuses on delivering exceptional guest experiences while achieving annual sales and profit targets.

Responsibilities include supervising the F&B team, scheduling, cost control, inventory, and partnering with venues on promotions and service standards; you’ll also ensure compliance with safety,

Qualifications

  • 2-year college degree in hospitality or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of management experience in golf, hospitality, or service industry.
  • Serve Safe certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Must be of legal age to sell and serve alcoholic beverages; applicable state card or certificate if required.
  • Experience in resolving customer issues and delivering excellent customer service.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Assist F&B Director to ensure product quality and service standards are met in various food and beverage outlets, catering, and banquet facilities.
  • Take responsibility for F&B department in the absence of F&B Director.
  • Review and control weekly payroll and overtime sheets and monitor according to budget.
  • Support hiring, training, staffing, and scheduling of F&B team members.
  • Conduct routine staff meetings to discuss procedures, issues, policy changes, and department specific items.
  • Assist in cost control of all food and beverage outlets by managing inventory, supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain effective inventory and shortage controls.
  • Generate monthly inventory, cost of sales, and other reports requested by management.
  • Identify and target sales opportunities through marketing, promotions, and special events initiatives for F&B outlets.
  • Adhere to safety, sanitation, food preparation, food storage and alcohol beverage control policies.

Job Purpose

The Assistant F&B Director assists the Food & Beverage Director in managing various aspects of multi-unit food services, dining, and catering operations. Together they will ensure annual sales and profits throughout the food & beverage operation are appropriately established and consistently achieved.

Responsibilities
  • Assist F&B Director to ensure product quality and service standards are met in various food and beverage outlets - convenience carts, snack bar, bar/lounge areas, restaurant(s), catering, and banquet facilities
  • Take responsibility for Food & Beverage (F&B) department in the absence of F&B Director

  • Support the hiring, training, staffing, and scheduling of food and beverage team members
  • Conduct routine staff meetings to discuss procedures, issues, policy changes, and department specific items

  • Specialty/Technical Training required (2-year college degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 6 years of management experience in golf, hospitality, or service industry required
  • Serve Safe certification required within 90 days of employment
  • Must be of legal age to sell and serve alcoholic beverages, applicable state card or certificate must be provided if required by state law
  • Experience in resolving customer issues/complaints as well as overall excellent customer service required
  • Proficient in computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Proven ability to effectively build and foster a team environment
Working Conditions
  • Schedule varies based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • The role requires regular movement throughout the venue, including time spent on the floor, in service areas, and during events.
  • Periods of standing and walking may be required, especially during service or event oversight.
  • Occasional physical tasks may involve reaching, lifting, or carrying items up to 50 pounds, assisting during high-volume service, or supporting team needs.
  • Vision requirements may include close, distance, peripheral, and color vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
