Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Estimator for our Boston, MA office to own estimates throughout the GC bid process. You’ll collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects and manage cost analysis, MTO, and value engineering to deliver competitive bids.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of commercial GC estimating experience, strong math, IT skills, and thrives under deadlines. This role offers clear ownership and opportunities for growth within our preconstruction team in the Boston

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in construction estimating or similar role.
• Experience with project bidding, budgeting, and value engineering.
• Proficient in Material Take Off (MTO) and cost analysis.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of GC estimating processes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates to support bids and budgeting.
• Collaborate with PMs, engineers, and architects to define requirements.
• Analyze designs and specs to determine project costs.
• Apply MTO to quantify materials needed for each project.
• Conduct cost analysis and value engineering for efficiency.
• Negotiate with contractors and suppliers for best terms.
• Monitor market trends to secure competitive pricing.
• Present detailed estimates to stakeholders and leadership.
• Maintain updated cost databases and market information.
• Ensure compliance with company estimating standards.
