Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its preconstruction team at a family-owned GC north of the city. You will prepare cost estimates for commercial construction projects and collaborate with project teams to deliver accurate bids.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of estimating in commercial construction, strong knowledge of methods and materials, and proficiency with estimating software and MS Office. This role offers a competitive salary and room for professional growth.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and building systems.
• Experience with estimating software and MS Office.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and meet deadlines.
• Degree in Construction Management/Engineering preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and detailed cost analyses.
• Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Develop bid proposals and assist with tender submissions.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors throughout the preconstruction process.
• Maintain up-to-date pricing databases and estimating records.
• Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and project handovers as required.
