Jobot is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our preconstruction team in the Boston market. You will own estimates for commercial GC projects and guide the bid process from budgeting through value engineering.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in construction estimating or a similar role.
• Experience with project bidding, budgeting, value engineering, MTO, negotiation, and cost analysis.
• Strong mathematical and IT abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of construction processes, materials, and regulations.
• Proficiency with industry software and MS Office Suite.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Professional certification in construction estimating is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects to aid bidding and budgeting.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to understand requirements and timelines.
• Analyze project designs and specs to determine overall costs.
• Utilize MTO to calculate material quantities for each project.
• Conduct cost analyses and value engineering to identify savings.
• Participate in negotiations with contractors and suppliers for best prices.
• Monitor industry trends and prices to secure favorable terms.
• Prepare and present detailed estimates to stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Maintain a database of updated project costs and market information.
• Ensure compliance with company estimating standards.
