Job summary

Unknown GC in Salem, MA is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its preconstruction team. The role focuses on preparing accurate cost estimates for a variety of commercial construction projects, with a strong emphasis on cost control, procurement, and value engineering.

The successful candidate will analyze materials, labor, equipment, and timelines, collaborate with PMs, engineers, and architects, and drive cost efficiency across projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction estimating experience.
• Experience with project bidding, budgeting, cost analysis, value engineering, MTO, and procurement.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing materials, labor, equipment, and time.
• Evaluate bids from suppliers and subcontractors to meet specs and budget.
• Apply value engineering to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to develop accurate estimates.
• Oversee procurement of materials and equipment.
• Monitor project progress and adjust estimates for scope/timeline changes.
