Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Assistant Environmental Engineer to support project teams in designing and redeveloping facilities, including power generation and water treatment. You will work under licensed engineers to adapt environmental plans to budgets and client needs.

Responsibilities include assisting with drawings, data collection, field inspections, and client presentations. A bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering and strong communication skills are required; EIT

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field; ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Internship and/or consulting experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of environmental and civil engineering techniques, principles and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment; strong critical thinking.
• Proficient in MS Office; basic AutoCAD, BIM (Revit), and 3D rendering skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills; EIT certification preferred; GPA 3.0+ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in environmental design from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Assist with modifying and reviewing production drawings for various facilities.
• Assist in designing environmental components per project needs and requirements.
• Apply knowledge of environmental engineering concepts within projects.
• Assist with data collection and analysis for project managers.
• Support client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration.
• Conduct field inspections, measurements or calculations as needed.
