Job summary

Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH) is seeking an Assistant Engineer for the RSC at NBPL to manage daily deck operations aboard Navy vessels, reporting to the Captain/Mate.

The role requires living within an hour of NBPL and a valid MMC with QMED endorsement. You will perform exterior maintenance, supervise deckhands, track maintenance inventory, and conduct equipment inspections, with overtime and sea duty expected; U.S.

Qualifications

• Two years of engineering department experience on vessels with diesel propulsion.
• Five years of experience preferred.
• Knowledge of marine electrical systems preferred.
• USCG Merchant Mariner Document endorsement and a valid medical certificate required.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to be insured for work/government vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Reports to vessel Captain/Mate and manages daily deck operations.
• Performs exterior maintenance and directs deckhands.
• Maintains accurate inventory of onboard deck department maintenance supplies.
• Executes equipment inspections as needed.
