Job summary

Miller Electric is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (Electrical/Mechanical) to support large-scale commercial projects in Virginia. You will assist in estimating, coordinate subcontractors, manage documentation, and ensure safety and quality standards on site.

You will report to the Project Manager, build client and vendor relationships, and participate in design meetings. 2+ years of relevant experience and a degree in a related field are preferred; relocation assistance is provided for

Qualifications

• 2+ years as an Assistant Project Manager over commercial electrical work.
• Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Strong computer skills and quick to learn new systems.
• Commitment to continuous improvement of communication, organization and leadership skills.
• Effective scheduling and delegation to accomplish tasks on time.
• Tactful conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist in estimating project scope and costs.
• Manage project expectations and execution of subcontractors for projects $100M+.
• Maintaining project documentation.
• Tracking project expenses and budget.
• Preparing reports.
• Communicate with clients and subcontractors.
• Attend and participate in project coordination and owner/contractor/architect/engineer meetings.
• Research and preparation of change requests to resolve design issues for approval.
• Research and recommend solutions to design document problems, including conflicts, interferences, and errors/omissions.
• Monitor field work and/or contract work to ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, specifications, and codes.
• Assist with the submittal and RFI processes.
• Assist in the early completion and tracking of billing.
