Job summary

Yellow Brick Road is seeking an Assistant Educator to support the Lead Educator in providing a nurturing, inclusive learning environment for young children in Minnesota. You will help implement play-based activities, support classroom culture, supervise students, and assist with documentation.

You will engage with families, participate in professional development, and meet DHS Assistant Teacher qualifications. A CPR/First Aid certification is required within 30 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Must meet Department of Human Services (DHS) Assistant Teacher qualification requirements.
• Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Educator in implementing play-based, age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.
• Help maintain a positive classroom culture that fosters belonging, safety, and curiosity.
• Supervise and engage with students to ensure safety and participation; monitor progress as directed.
• Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing to maintain a safe environment; support conflict resolution and routines.
• Communicate professionally with families and provide updates via the Parent Communication app.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share ideas and best practices.
