Job summary

The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking a part-time, hourly Assistant Teacher to nurture young minds and support families in our community. You will help plan engaging, age-appropriate activities and maintain a clean, safe environment for children.

Qualifications

• 2 years (2500 hours) verified childcare experience.
• Demonstrates ability to plan engaging, age-appropriate activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing dynamic curricula for fun, child-centered lessons.
• Create a supportive, safe environment for children and families.
• Assist with light cleaning and daily care routines.
• Supervise children by seeing, hearing, directing and assisting to ensure safety.
• Follow YMCA and state policies for quality childcare.

What is needed for this job:

• High School degree or equivalent.


• 2 years (2500 hours) verified childcare experience.

The responsibilities we will trust you with:

• Assist in planning and implementing dynamic curricula to ensure fun, child-centered, and age-appropriate lessons are offered.


• Cultivate a sensitive, patient childcare environment for both children and families.


• Maintain a healthy environment through light cleaning and supporting personal care routines of the children.


• Supervise each child in your care by being able to identify, SEE, HEAR, DIRECT and ASSIST, always ensuring a safe environment.


• Uphold all YMCA, State, and Quality Rating Systems policies and guidelines for overall commitment to quality in childcare.
