Job summary

The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) seeks an Assistant Division Chief (Administrator VI) to oversee professional staff coordinating federal grant programs including TA, SRTS, RTP, and SB. The role involves substantial governance, facilitation with LPAs, and ensuring FHWA compliance.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
• Six (6) years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.
• Selective Qualification: three (3) years of experience interpreting and applying state and federal transportation regulations and three (3) years managing a program or project with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Oversee permanent professional staff overseeing multiple federal grant programs.
• Coordinate FHWA requirements and guidance with LPAs and SHA offices.
• Prepare and update manuals, and organize training for grant applications and reviews.
• Lead project agreements, kickoff meetings with LPAs, and progress reviews.
