Job summary

The Maryland Department of Transportation's State Highway Administration, based in Baltimore City, seeks an Assistant Section Chief (Transportation Engineer V) to lead and oversee the Federal Aid Program, providing guidance on apportionments, obligation authority, and project oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Five (5) years of professional engineering experience.
• Three (3) years of experience in finance management including reviewing, evaluating, and balancing financial transactions and budgets, project management, and/or consultant task management.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily operations of the Federal Aid Program for SHA.
• Supervise employees under the Section Chief's management and provide guidance on federal program requirements.
• Review, coordinate, and obtain Federal Agreements for highway construction phases.
• Coordinate with project and program offices and SHA and FHWA to oversee funds and projects.
