Job summary

The State of Missouri’s Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking an assistant district maintenance engineer to help coordinate safe and efficient maintenance of the district highway system, including paving, signage, and bridge work. This role operates under general supervision and supports the district maintenance engineer in leading teams and ensuring compliance with policies.

Candidates should have a PE license in Missouri, a relevant ABET‑accredited engineering degree, and at least

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university curriculum.
Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri.
Six years of experience in highway or transportation engineering.

Responsibilities

Coordinate maintenance activities within the district under general supervision.
Prioritize and monitor maintenance activities in the district.
Serve as a technical resource, evaluate and inspect district maintenance activities for policy compliance.
Provide supervision, assistance and guidance to district maintenance personnel.
Inspect maintenance equipment to ensure compliance with preventive maintenance and safety standards.
