Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in Tennessee (or eligible through reciprocity).
• Strong written communication skills, including drafting legal pleadings and motions.
• Strong oral communication skills for presenting to judges, juries, attorneys and the public.
• Proven reasoning and analytical skills to evaluate complex legal issues.

Responsibilities

• Prosecute felony, misdemeanor, juvenile, and specialized criminal cases.
• Review police reports and determine appropriate charges.
• Prepare cases for Grand Jury presentation and trial.
• Develop trial strategy, conduct plea negotiations, and sentencing recommendations.
• Interview witnesses, secure expert testimony, and prepare cases for court.
• Handle pre-trial, trial, sentencing, and post-trial proceedings.
• Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced attorneys as assigned.
