Job summary

The Clayton County District Attorney's Office is seeking an Assistant District Attorney II to prosecute cases, represent the state in resolutions via dismissal, plea negotiations, or trial, and provide courtroom leadership.

The role requires a JD, Georgia bar, and at least three years of prosecution or felony trial experience; responsibilities include supervising staff, presenting cases to grand jury, drafting indictments, and coordinating with courtroom calendars.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate required with a valid Georgia Bar membership.
• Three (3) years of prosecution experience or comparable felony trial experience.
• Effective and progressively proficient work as an attorney; knowledge of state law.

Responsibilities

• Represent the state in criminal prosecutions through dismissal, plea negotiations, or trial.
• Draft accusations and indictments; evaluate defenses; prosecute or dismiss cases.
• Present cases to grand jury; supervise courtroom staff and coordinate schedules.
• Read reports, research case law, and prepare trial strategies; coordinate with trial team.
• Develop sentencing recommendations and participate in pre-trial conferences.
• Attend meetings and maintain continuing education requirements.
