Job summary

The Northeastern Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office is seeking an Assistant District Attorney to join our team. The role involves reviewing investigative reports, drafting charges, developing trial strategies, and presenting cases to grand juries and appellate courts.

You will also handle motions, discovery, and sentencing recommendations. Qualified candidates must be in good standing with the Georgia Bar and ready to undergo comprehensive background checks and pre-employment

Qualifications

Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia.
Ability to practice before the Georgia Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.
Background check and pre-employment screenings required; fingerprinting.
Preference for prosecution experience but not required.

Responsibilities

Review reports to determine if further investigation is needed and direct case work.
Draft accusations and indictments; evaluate defenses; negotiate pleas.
Develop trial strategy; present cases to grand jury; examine witnesses and guide sentencing.
Subpoena witnesses; file motions; comply with discovery requirements; manage pretrial/post-trial filings.
Prosecute cases before juries and judges as lead counsel or second chair.
Prepare briefs for the Georgia Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.
Perform other duties as assigned by the DA or Chief ADA.
