Job summary

The Bucks County District Attorney's Office seeks an Assistant District Attorney to serve as primary prosecutor on assigned cases, gaining hands-on courtroom experience from inception through resolution. The role offers immediate courtroom exposure and the opportunity to handle meaningful cases that require sound judgment and professionalism.

Required: Juris Doctor and Pennsylvania Bar admission (or eligibility).

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree and admission to the Pennsylvania Bar (or eligibility)
• Prior prosecutorial or trial experience preferred, but not required
• Demonstrated work ethic, strong judgment, and professionalism
• Excellent legal writing, oral advocacy, and courtroom presence
• Ability to manage a substantial caseload while maintaining attention to detail
• Commitment to ethical prosecution and public service
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary prosecutor on assigned cases
• Work directly with law enforcement to prepare search warrants, affidavits, and court orders
• Draft, litigate, and respond to substantive motions, briefs, and/or appeals
• Handle hearings in Magisterial District Courts, the Court of Common Pleas, and/or appellate courts
• Conduct bench, jury trials and/or appellate arguments independently
• Make principled, well‑reasoned sentencing recommendations to the court
• Communicate professionally with victims, witnesses, police officers, and members of the public
