Job summary

The Bucks County District Attorney's Office seeks an Assistant District Attorney to serve as primary prosecutor on assigned cases, gaining hands-on courtroom experience from inception through resolution. Required: Juris Doctor and Pennsylvania Bar admission (or eligibility).

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree and admission to the Pennsylvania Bar (or eligibility)
• Prior prosecutorial or trial experience preferred, but not required
• Demonstrated work ethic, strong judgment, and professionalism
• Excellent legal writing, oral advocacy, and courtroom presence
• Ability to manage a substantial caseload while maintaining attention to detail
• Commitment to ethical prosecution and public service
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary prosecutor on assigned cases
• Work directly with law enforcement to prepare search warrants, affidavits, and court orders
• Draft, litigate, and respond to substantive motions, briefs, and/or appeals
• Handle hearings in Magisterial District Courts, the Court of Common Pleas, and/or appellate courts
• Conduct bench, jury trials and/or appellate arguments independently
• Make principled, well‑reasoned sentencing recommendations to the court
• Communicate professionally with victims, witnesses, police officers, and members of the public

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office requires driven, high-performing attorneys to serve as Assistant District Attorneys. An Assistant District Attorney may be placed in an Assistant District Attorney, I, II, or III position based on experience, level of responsibility, and needs of the office.
