Job summary

IMS in Atlanta is seeking an Assistant Distribution Manager to oversee packaging, shipping, and the efficient handling of products in our distribution facility.

You will report to the Distribution Manager and contribute to planning, staffing, and process improvements while coordinating with client teams to meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years in distribution and project management.
• Experience starting up new clients and facilities; familiarity with WMS & RF systems.
• Six Sigma experience is a plus.
• Ability to lead and develop teams and manage schedules.

Responsibilities

• Plan projects with account teams, communicate details, submit estimates as needed, and ensure alignment with client expectations.
• Manage monthly forecasts, monitor GP, and tightly control expenses.
• Oversee receiving, shipping, and inventory control processes; ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Lead kit pack-out and distribution to meet deadlines and budget targets.
• Ensure ISO 9001:2008 procedures are followed and drive continuous improvement.
• Support staffing: hiring, training, development, motivation, and performance management for the team.
• Ensure safety and OSHA compliance across operations.

The Assistant Distribution Manager is responsible for the proper handling, packaging and shipping of products to the customer.
