Reporting to the Director of CLASS (Center for Learning and Academic Support Services), the Assistant Director of V-CLASS (Virtual Center for Learning and Academic Support Services) serves as a strategic leader responsible for the development, implementation, assessment, and expansion of Augusta University's virtual academic support services. This position provides comprehensive leadership for online tutoring, academic coaching, embedded virtual support, academic recovery initiatives, digital learning resources, and student success interventions tailored for undergraduate, graduate, professional, online, hybrid, clinical, and non-traditional learners.
The Assistant Director manages day-to-day V-CLASS operations and directly supervises professional staff, graduate assistants, peer educators, and virtual academic support personnel. Key responsibilities include leading strategic planning, program development, technology integration, assessment, and data-informed decision-making.
The role collaborates extensively across campus with faculty, academic departments, Online Learning, IT, Institutional Effectiveness, and Student Success units to integrate support services seamlessly into virtual learning environments, advancing AU's goals for enrollment growth, retention, persistence, and degree completion.
The duties include, but are not limited to:

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Higher Education, Education, Counseling, or a related field. Minimum of two (2) years experience in higher education, academic support services, student success, academic advising, teaching, online learning, instructional design, or a related field.
Master's degree with three (3) years of experience in academic support services, student success, online learning, academic coaching, tutoring, academic advising, instructional design, or a related higher education field. Supervisory experience; experience teaching college-level courses such as first-year experience, academic recovery, or student success courses; experience developing and managing virtual learning initiatives; experience utilizing learning management systems, student success technologies, and data analytics platforms; and demonstrated success in program development, assessment, faculty collaboration, and retention-focused initiatives within a college or university setting.
Shift: Days; M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
