Job summary

MSOE in Milwaukee invites applications for a full-time Assistant Director of Academic Support and Student Persistence to lead the Raider Center for Academic Success. You will oversee tutoring, success coaching, and skill-building initiatives, ensuring proactive, personalized support for students.

As a central liaison between Academic Affairs and Student Affairs, you will supervise staff, manage programs, and partner with faculty to remove barriers to degree completion.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Counseling, Education, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in academic support, student success, or related higher education roles.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, manage budgets, and develop effective programs.
• Strong skills in data analysis, assessment, and applying findings to practice.
• Experience with diverse student populations and retention strategies.
• Knowledge of early alert technologies and online academic support platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership of RCAS academic support services.
• Coordinate tutoring across disciplines and supervise tutors.
• Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and evaluate student tutors.
• Lead training and professional development for tutors through certification programs.
• Develop and revise Returning Student Course curriculum and related success initiatives.
• Collaborate with faculty and campus partners to ensure integrated student support.
• Monitor student progress and coordinate timely interventions.
