Job summary

The Ohio State University’s Undergraduate Education | Student Athlete Support Services invites applications for Assistant Director, SASSO. You will oversee academic success initiatives for underprepared and underrepresented student-athletes, design instructional plans, and manage a team of full-time staff.

You will mentor and coach student-athletes, coordinate tutoring and trainings, assess program effectiveness, and collaborate with the educational services team to prepare students for exams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education required.
• Five years experience required, experience with postsecondary students preferred.
• Master’s degree preferred; eight to twelve years of relevant experience preferred; familiarity with NCAA, Big Ten Conference and OSU rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage learning interventions and instructional plans for underprepared/underrepresented student-athletes.
• Lead a team of full-time SASSO staff and coordinate professional development.
• Coach and provide feedback to a caseload of student-athletes; address performance concerns as needed.
• Collaborate with the educational services team to prepare students for exams and tutoring initiatives.
