Job summary

University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA seeks an Assistant Director of Stewardship to execute donor relations and communications for Penn Engineering and Alumni Relations. You will produce high-quality materials, manage projects, and improve workflows to ensure donors are acknowledged, informed, and engaged.

You will craft gift acknowledgments, fund reports, leadership briefs, and digital content, collaborating with Penn Engineering Marketing and Communications and university partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2–3 years of stewardship, donor relations, or related experience.
• Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, interviewing, and research skills.
• Strong project management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with senior leaders, fundraisers, and partners.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and databases, email platforms, event tools, and digital content tools.

Responsibilities

• Gift acknowledgments and donor correspondence; manage an assigned portfolio including major gifts recognition and personalized letters.
• Stewardship reporting and donor impact communications for endowed and current-use funds.
• Support Development and Alumni Relations initiatives including stewardship events and special projects.
• Draft and edit donor-facing communications, case statements, leadership materials, and post-event correspondence.
• Build and deploy donor, annual giving, alumni, and event communications using Salesforce Marketing Cloud and related platforms.
• Maintain records in Compass/Salesforce; develop templates, dashboards, and process improvements.
