University of Central Florida is seeking a collaborative accounting leader to oversee post-award accounting activities, strengthen financial controls, and ensure compliant practices for sponsored projects and core revenue operations. The role includes supervising staff, ensuring timely reporting, and coordinating with sponsors and university leadership.
The position requires deep knowledge of GAAP, federal/state/university rules, ERP systems, and experience with Workday grants.
The Opportunity: UCF is seeking a collaborative accounting leader to oversee professional accounting activities and strengthen financial procedures, internal controls, and accounting practices supporting both sponsored research agreements and core revenue operations, including cash application, revenue reconciliation, financial closeouts, and data analysis.
You will serve as a subject matter resource in University, sponsor, and Federal regulations, helping ensure compliant and effective post-award financial administration. This position also provides meaningful leadership responsibility: you will supervise and conduct quality control for your assigned team, ensuring effective performance in billing/collection, monthly, annual, and year-end reporting for internal and external stakeholders, and compliance with sponsor requirements. A key part of the role is supporting the supervision and development of staff who carry out these responsibilities.
This position requires strong knowledge of Federal, State, and University rules, GAAP, and ERP financial systems and other integrated systems. Reporting to the Associate Director of Sponsored Programs, the role carries signature authority on behalf of the University for financial documents, reflecting the level of trust and accountability associated with the work.
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience with at least 1+ year(s) of leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
The anticipated salary range for this position is $89,076 - $111,345. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
This is a Contract and Grant (C&G) funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.
