Job summary

YMCA of Greater Waukesha County is seeking a Camp Director to lead the Summer Day Camp program in Wauwatosa, WI, and to support year-round school’s out programs. You will hire, train, and coach staff, implement engaging curriculum, and ensure a fun, safe environment for youth.

The role involves coordinating events, managing budgets, and collaborating with branch leaders to meet participation goals and safety standards. Requires 21+, credentials or related degree, and CPR/First Aid within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Eligible with WI afterschool credential or related bachelor’s, or 2+ years supervisory camp experience.
• High energy, enthusiasm, and motivation to engage youth.
• Experience with school-age children and camp supervision.
• Ability to enforce safety policies while keeping camp fun.
• Mandatory CPR and First Aid within 60 days of hire.
• Exhibit YMCA core values: caring, respect, honesty, responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Oversee summer day camp operations, hire staff, train, and develop curriculum.
• Facilitate School’s Out Fun Days and branch engagement events.
• Support Before/After School sites in afternoons when needed.
• Supervise the Child Watch department year-round.
• Monitor program budgets, registrations, and safety regulations.
• Coordinate use of facilities and equipment for activities.
