Job summary

Gateways to Change, Inc. in Rhode Island seeks an Assistant Director who will develop and maintain staff and consumer activity schedules, ensure programs are carried out, and manage staffing levels.

The role includes direct instruction to consumers, modeling intervention techniques, and organizing staff training on Human Rights, First Aid, Medication Administration, and related topics; a valid driver's license and background check are required.

Qualifications

• Some college in Human Services.
• One year working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Valid driver's license, insurance, registrations & inspection.
• Criminal background check with no disqualifying offenses.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain daily and weekly staff and consumer activity schedules to ensure programs are carried out and staffed appropriately.
• Provide direct instruction to consumers and model teaching/intervention techniques.
• Conduct and document staff training on Human Rights, Behavior Management, First Aid, Administration of Medication, Detecting Illness and Dysfunction, Communicable Diseases, Sexuality, Normalization, Data Taking, and Household Systems.
