Job summary

Schochet seeks an Assistant Director of Resident Services in Braintree, MA to lead resident services across our portfolio. The role involves hands-on program delivery, coverage during vacancies, case management, and collaboration with property management to ensure strong resident outcomes.

Responsibilities include training staff, coordinating services, and supporting HUD compliance. Travel is regularly required, and a bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years in affordable housing or social services are

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Health, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in affordable housing, social services, or public health.
  • Valid Driver's License and transportation required.
  • Knowledge of HUD programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with complex resident cases, tenancy stabilization, crisis response, and service coordination.
  • Provide coverage during RSC vacancies, leaves, and transitions.
  • Support RSCs with case management, intake, referrals, documentation, and problem-solving.
  • Train and mentor RSCs; model resident engagement best practices.
  • Develop resident programs and support community-building efforts.
  • Support residents and Property Management during renovations and capital projects.
  • Collaborate with providers and Property Management to address resident needs.
  • Assist with HUD compliance, grants, data collection, and reporting.
  • Participate in special projects and provide departmental support as needed.
