Job summary

The Learning Experience #648 in Middleburg, FL is seeking an Assistant Director to help lead our preschool center. You will work with the Director to create a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment for young learners and dedicated staff.

Responsibilities include supporting daily operations, mentoring teachers, ensuring licensing compliance, engaging families, and helping maintain curriculum quality. Strong leadership and communication are essential to guide the team and step in as acting

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in licensed childcare or preschool.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience in early childhood education.
• Knowledge of Florida childcare licensing regulations and DCF requirements.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Support the Center Director in daily operations of a licensed preschool and childcare facility.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop classroom teachers and support staff.
• Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and health and safety standards.
• Assist with enrollment, family engagement, and parent communication.
• Help maintain curriculum quality and implementation of early childhood education programs.
• Manage staff scheduling, classroom coverage, and administrative tasks.
• Step in as acting Director in the absence of the Center Director.
