Job summary

The Learning Experience #444 in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking an Assistant Director to help lead our nurturing early childhood program. In this leadership role you will support the Center Director in daily operations and foster a welcoming environment for children and families.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in childcare or early education.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Center Director in daily operations of the childcare facility
• Supervise, mentor, and coach classroom teachers and support staff
• Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and company policies
• Assist with enrollment, family communication, and parent engagement initiatives
• Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating learning environment for all children
• Step in to lead the center in the Director's absence
• Support curriculum implementation and monitor classroom quality standards

Requirements:

• Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred
• 2+ years of experience in a childcare or early education setting
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of Virginia childcare licensing regulations is a plus
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Warm, professional demeanor with a passion for child development
