Job summary

DePaul University is seeking an Assistant Director of Pre-Health Advising to provide holistic pre-health guidance to students and alumni pursuing graduate health programs. The role splits the advising caseload 50-50 with the other pre-health advisor and includes professional school prerequisite planning, experiential learning, and leadership opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Master's degree in higher education, education, counseling, student affairs, or related fields preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in academic advising, pre-health advising, counseling, event planning, admissions, student affairs or equivalent in an education setting.
• Strong counseling and advising skills.
• Strong program and event planning skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic pre-health advising to DePaul students and recent alumni pursuing graduate health programs; split caseload 50-50 and coach on applications.
• Split academic advising caseload for Pathways Honors Program students; support administration of the program.
• Collaborate with Pathways Honors Program director on student executive board, event programming, assessment, and budget management.
• Design and deliver presentations for Pathways Honors Program; participate in recruitment events.
• Work with College of Science and Health staff and external partners to raise awareness and advocacy for pre-health students.
