Job summary

Warner Robins Recreation Department is seeking an Assistant Director of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Services to help plan, coordinate and manage department programs and strategies. This role serves as the on-site department director in their absence.

The candidate will supervise program administrators, assist with budgeting, and participate in meetings with regional boards while ensuring public safety and high quality recreation services for the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in related field; ten years of recreation program management may substitute for a Bachelors degree.
• Five to seven years of related experience directing and coordinating work within a division/department, including five years of supervisory experience in a recreation setting.
• Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Georgia driver's license.
• NRPA Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Manage parks, athletic complexes, recreation facilities, trails and greenspace.
• Oversee department programs, services and personnel as directed by the Director.
• Assist with capital project planning and act as on-site department representative during construction.
