Job summary

Washington State University seeks an Assistant Director to lead planning and implementation of orientation programs within New Student Enrollment. You will provide direct support and leadership for multiple programs, including Week of Welcome and parent/family initiatives.

You will report to the Director of Orientation Programs and help align activities with the department’s mission and institutional goals, while coordinating with staff, students, and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and three years of professional work experience in student services or related field.
• Master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Experience giving formal presentations or group facilitation.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.
• Willingness and ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and implementation of designated programs within New Student Enrollment and Orientation.
• Provide direct support of all programs and lead specific programs assigned.
• Collaborate with the orientation team and report to the Director of Orientation Programs.
• Support department vision, mission, and goals.
