Job summary

AristaCare is seeking an Assistant Director of Respiratory to support the Director in overseeing daily operations of the Respiratory Therapy Department and ensure high-quality care for residents. This full-time role requires at least 5 years as a Respiratory Therapist and 1 year in leadership, with on-call duties and strong EMR skills.

You will work with physicians and nursing leadership to develop care plans, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with CMS/OSHA standards while promoting patient

Qualifications

• Must hold an active RRT credential and a current state license
• At least 5 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• At least 1 year in respiratory therapy management or leadership
• SNF/LTC experience preferred
• Available for on-call responsibilities and strong EMR/computer skills

Responsibilities

• Assist daily operations, staffing, scheduling, and workflow of the Respiratory Therapy Department
• Assist in supervising, training, and evaluating respiratory therapy staff
• Support the Director in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations, including CMS, OSHA, and infection control standards
• Assist with developing, implementing, and monitoring respiratory care plans
• Provide and oversee respiratory treatments, including oxygen therapy, ventilator support, aerosol treatments, and tracheostomy care
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams regarding resident care and treatment plans
• Monitor documentation and ensure timely and accurate charting in the EMR
• Assist with quality improvement initiatives and efforts to improve resident outcomes
• Support efforts to reduce hospital readmissions and improve respiratory care outcomes
• Ensure proper infection prevention and control practices are followed
• Assist with respiratory equipment, supplies, maintenance, and department needs
• Provide education and guidance to respiratory therapy staff, residents, and families
• Assist with orientation and training of new respiratory therapy employees
• Serve as a resource to respiratory therapy staff and assist with clinical and operational concerns
• Assist in overseeing department operations in the absence of the Director of Respiratory Therapy
• Participate in on-call responsibilities as needed

Requirements:

• Must possess a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Must possess an active state license as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Must have at least 5 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Must have at least 1 year of experience in respiratory therapy management or leadership.
• SNF/LTC experience preferred.
• Must be available for on-call responsibilities as needed.
• Must have strong computer and EMR skills.
• Must have knowledge of respiratory care, including oxygen therapy, ventilator management, aerosol treatments, and tracheostomy care.
