What You Will Do
  • Under the direction of the Director of Purchases, this position is responsible for administration of the buying and contracting function of Purchasing which includes supervision and performance management of staff.
  • This position is responsible for meeting the purchasing requirements of all SIUE departments and adhering to the requirement of the Illinois Procurement Code and Board of Trustees policies.
  • The incumbent will also serve as contracts manager for the department.
  • They will provide guidance for major purchase categories and complex bids as well as review and sign purchase orders over the legal bid limit.
  • In addition, the position is responsible for developing and conducting trainings and seminars on purchasing procedures and regulations.
