Job summary

Palomino Place in Mesquite, TX is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing Services to assist the Director in directing daily nursing activities in accordance with state and federal guidelines, ensuring quality care for patients/residents.

The role includes administrative authority for assigned duties, coordination of treatments and medications, and participation in committee meetings per clinical policies. Strong supervisory experience and a valid state license are required.

Qualifications

• A current and valid license is maintained in the applicable State.
• Minimum of two years charge nurse and supervisory experience in a long term care setting is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate day-to-day nursing care in line with rules and standards.
• Ensure treatments, medications, and nursing services align with care plans and physician orders.
• Participate in evaluations and disciplinary actions per policy when needed.
• Schedule and oversee weekly/monthly committees per Clinical Policies and Procedures.
• Conduct frequent rounds to ensure nursing staff fulfill essential functions as per guidelines.
• Document and report patient health changes promptly to physicians and families.
• Serve as Team Leader/Role Model and take call duties as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all Nursing Service procedures and abuse prevention policies.
• Contribute to staff orientation and professional development; complete annual evaluations.
