Job summary

Wexford House in Kingsport, Tennessee is seeking a compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing (RN) for a full-time, on-site role. The ADON will lead clinical staff, oversee nursing practices, participate in QA and regulatory activities, and ensure patient care quality and safety.

Ideal candidates hold a Tennessee RN license, have at least 3 years of supervisory experience in healthcare, and maintain CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted RN license for Tennessee
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing home or related healthcare facility
• Current CPR certification
• Knowledgeable of nursing practices and long-term care regulations

Responsibilities

• Communicate policy and procedures to clinical staff and monitor practices
• Participate in management team meetings related to census, resident care plans, complaints, and concerns, as well as QAPI and facility assessments
• Evaluate work performance of nursing personnel and implement disciplinary actions per policies
• Ensure reportable resident incidents are reported per state regulations
• Maintain confidentiality of protected health information in all forms

Assistant Director of Nursing Position Summary

As the ADON at Wexford House, you'll be an essential part of our residents' care. Responsibilities include:

• Communicate policy and procedures to clinical staff, monitor staff and practices.
• Participate in management team meetings related to census, resident care plans, complaints, and concerns as well as QAPI and facility assessments.
• Evaluate work performance of all nursing personnel and discipline according to operational policies.
• Ensure resident incidents and concerns that rise to a reportable event are reported to the correct entity within the state regulatory requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality of protected health information, including verbal, written and electronic communications.

Assistant Director of Nursing Requirements

• Current unrestricted RN license for the state of Tennessee
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing home or other related healthcare facility
• Current CPR certification
• Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices as well as long-term care regulations
