Job summary

Saugus Rehab and Nursing in Massachusetts seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to oversee nursing staff, onboarding, scheduling and patient rounds in our facility. The ADON will coach nurses, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare laws, monitor budgets and records, and lead staff meetings to discuss patient status.

Responsibilities

• Hiring new nurses and overseeing the onboarding process by training them or assigning them to a trainer.
• Creating schedules to ensure that departments have adequate nursing coverage for every shift.
• Coaching nurses to improve performance and handling discipline issues.
• Monitoring expenses to ensure that the facility operates within budgetary constraints.
• Holding staff meetings to discuss patient status.
• Conducting employee evaluations that identify nurses’ strengths and areas of improvement.
• Making rounds to assess patient status and observe nurses.
• Checking patient records to ensure that they are accurate and up to date.
