Job summary

Zenith Healthcare is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to lead nursing teams in a Massachusetts facility. The role focuses on hiring and onboarding, crafting schedules, coaching for performance, and monitoring budgets to maintain high-quality patient care.

The ADON will conduct rounds, participate in staff meetings, and evaluate nurses to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement. Proficiency with electronic health records and related software is required.

Responsibilities

• Hiring new nurses and overseeing the onboarding process by training them or assigning them to a trainer
• Creating schedules to ensure that departments have adequate nursing coverage for every shift
• Coaching nurses to improve performance and handling discipline issues
• Monitoring expenses to ensure that the facility operates within budgetary constraints
• Holding staff meetings to discuss patient status
• Conducting employee evaluations that identify nurses’ strengths and areas of improvement
• Making rounds to assess patient status and observe nurses
• Checking patient records to ensure that they are accurate and up to date
