Job summary

ALIYA Healthcare Consulting in Palos Park, IL is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in leading the nursing department with excellence, compassion, and clinical expertise.

The ADON will manage daily nursing operations, supervise staff, ensure resident care quality, and uphold regulatory compliance, while actively contributing to QAPI and care-planning processes.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing supervisory experience in long-term care or rehabilitation.
• CPR certification current.
• Knowledge of nursing regulations and long-term care compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and evaluating nursing department goals, policies, and procedures.
• Coordinate nursing services with other departments for comprehensive resident care.
• Participate in facility inspections, audits, and quality assurance initiatives.
• Support DON with staffing decisions, onboarding, evaluations, and performance management.
• Ensure accurate daily staffing levels for RN, LPN, and CNA staff.
• Oversee infection control and HIPAA, OSHA compliance.
• Conduct rounds to assess staff performance and resident satisfaction.
• Monitor medication administration and care delivery, report discrepancies.
• Provide direct resident care when needed and model best practices.
• Mentor nursing staff and promote professional growth and accountability.
• Participate in care plan meetings, admissions, and discharge planning.
• Support in-service training and staff education.
• Uphold cleanliness, safety, and regulatory standards in nursing areas.
• Contribute to QAPI program and represent nursing leadership in DON’s absence.
