Job summary

Regency at Waterford, a Ciena Healthcare facility, seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and directing the nursing department to ensure high-quality care for residents.

The ADON will supervise nursing staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive clinical outcomes and resident satisfaction. Benefits include competitive pay and comprehensive insurance offerings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Progressive nursing leadership experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or related healthcare setting.
• Knowledgeable in state and federal regulations governing long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Director of Nursing Services in the supervision of nursing care provided by nursing staff and others for whom they are administratively or professionally responsible.
• Assists in carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizational policies and applicable laws.
• Interviews, recommends, hires, and trains employees.
• Plans, assigns, and directs work.
• Prepares work assignment sheets, taking into consideration Resident safety, the educational preparation, experience, knowledge, and ability of the persons to whom the assignments are made.
• May receive calls and find replacements or absent staff.
• Transfers employees among units as needed.
• Prepares performance evaluations with the understanding that such evaluations impact tenure of probationary employees and wage increases of non-probationary employees.
• Disciplines employees up to and including discharge.
• Adequately supervises assigned staff and assures that those staff are supervising employees assigned to them.
• Approves the correction of errors in timecards or other timekeeping records.
• Receives and resolves employee complaints.
• Determines rotation of employees within the facility.
• Monitors and corrects job performance of employees.

Requirements:

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Current state license as a Registered Nurse to practice.
• Current CPR certification or CPR certification required within 90 days of employment
